Lulwah Al Homoud
Lulwah Al Homoud is an award-winning Saudi artist and curator whose practice revitalises Islamic artistic heritage through a contemporary abstract approach.
She received the prestigious Rawabi Award in London for strengthening cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and the UK, as well as the National Award for Visual Arts (2021).
An internationally recognised expert in Islamic and contemporary art, Al Homoud was the first Saudi to receive an MA from Central Saint Martins, London. Her curatorial projects span the globe, including collaborations with the British Museum, Duolun Museum (Shanghai), Artcurial (Paris), UNESCO (Paris), and institutions across the Gulf. She has advised high-profile organisations such as AlUla, the Ministry of Culture, and the Royal Commission of Riyadh.
Her artwork has been exhibited worldwide and acquired by leading institutions including the British Museum, LACMA, Five Continents Museum (Munich), and Jeju Museum (Korea).
Al Homoud is founder of the LAH Art Foundation and ISDAR, dedicated to cultural exchange, education, and supporting Saudi artists.
Lulwah Al Homoud lives and works in Riyadh.
